329 Broadway

Mixed-use High-rise consisting of residential, commercial and community facility uses. Innovative planning increased bulk by 94% through zoning lot merger and creation of residential open spaces on top of neighboring church. Size: 175,000 S.F.  Status: Construction Documents & SOE.

Clear Channel Co-location

The project entailed the co-location of 5 radio stations, along with their sales and administrative departments and all new broadcast infrastructure. Size: 70,000 S.F.

80 Ainslie

5 Story, mixed-use, heavy timber building utilizing cross laminated timber construction. 80 Ainslie is currently being submitted for Passive House certification under both the American and European standards. Size: 23,200 S.F.  Status: Construction Documents.

IATSE International Headquarters

IATSE, the Union for back of house workers in the entertainment industry, has been a client of mine for 20 years.  For their headquarters we assisted them in the search for a commercial condo, and in the complex due diligence and negotiations the deal required.  We helped them to re-imagine how they would operate into 21st century terms, integrating interactive telecommunications into their relationships with their locals around the country.    
We designed major alterations to the former printing loft, including innovative energy and space saving HVAC systems, and all the lighting, finishes and furnishings.  We also provided comprehensive Project management Services for the Project.
The client tells us that our design has made a huge difference in the culture and operations of their organization. Size: 31,000 S.F.

Offices and Union Hall for Theatrical Hair & Make-up Union.

Morgantown Center

Mixed use Arts Campus with commercial on ground floor, 3rd and 4th floor community facility, 5th and 6th offices, 7th, 8th and 9th hotel with rooftop hotel and office amenities. Size: 160,000 S.F. Status: Design Development, Phased Construction.

WCCA Community Media Center

Community Television and Radio Facility with Performance Space.
Size 15,000 G.S.F. Status: Fundraising.

Hebrew Home

225 units of senior housing with various building amenities.
Size: 500,000 G.S.F. Status: Feasibility Study.

889 Bushwick

Developed as a multi-phase project, the new building will be between 45,000 sf and 50,000 sf and incorporate 55 dwelling units in a mixture of studio through three bedroom units.  The design uses innovative detailing to accomplish near Passive House thermal performance, thereby minimizing operating costs and optimizing comfort. Size: 36,000 S.F. Status: Under Construction.

IATSE National Benefit Funds

Originally designed by Bice C. Wilson in 2007, we designed an increase in personnel density by 50% and complete relighting which will reduce energy costs by 60%. Size: 32,000 R.S.F. Status: Complete.

340 Evergreen

A new reinforced concrete building that incorporates a thermally efficient building envelope, housing 177 middle-class level of apartments. The building contains a fully attended parking facility that accommodates all parking, including spaces from adjacent building, 889 Bushwick. Size: 125,000 S.F. Status: Under Construction.

199 Cook

Existing warehouse conversion and expansion to include artist studios and ground floor galleries and studios. Size: 37,000 S.F.  Status: Construction.

167 Lafayette

Prototype for R6B historic landmark areas. Size: 11,00 G.S.F.  Status: Feasibility Study.

Alexander Residence

This renovation of a townhouse included creation of a new Living room, kitchen and extension of the basement to create a new home office with a garden roof. Size: 5,600 S.F.

CBS GM Building Studios

A 7 month fast track project involving a zoning text change, major structural alterations, the creation of a bullet-resistant glass TV studio, newsroom and offices for the CBS Early Show.  On this project Bice C. Wilson, AIA served as both the Principal Designer and Project Manager. Size: 25,000 S.F.

Hudson River Studios

We designed the adaptive reuse of and an addition of 560,000 sf to the 1 million SF St Johns Terminal in LowerManhattan in order to add 5 TV production Stages and related support spaces to the building.  We had accomplished full documentation and municipal approvals when a problem with the real estate deal scuttled the project. Size: 850,000 S.F.

Lifetime Technical Operations Center

This complex facility included Office, Editing Facilities and the Technical Core of the Lifetime TV Networks. I provided Architectural, Interior Design and Project Management services for what was judged by Reader’s Digest to be the workplace of the year in 2009. Size: 32,000 S.F.

 

Martha Stewart

The gut renovation of a former aircraft manufacturing plant into offices, test kitchens, art department, 2 TV studios and support spaces for Martha Stewart.  The project involved complex zoning issues in two jurisdictions and all new MEP infrastructure. Size: 25,000 S.F.

South Bronx Social Venture Center

A proposal for the conversion of the former Bronx YMCA, currently used as a Juvenile Detention Facility, into a production and training facility for BronxNet, the community media agency of the Bronx.  We helped conceive the project, wrote its business plan, designed the proposal and assisted in grant writing. Size: 90,000 S.F.

Studio City

A proposal for a major broadcast center suitable for the relocation of CBS’s Broadcast Center, this project involved collaboration with the NYC Economic Development Commission, and many other municipal agencies. Size: 1,000,000 S.F.

The Prime

This new 8 unit luxury condominium optimized every square foot of development potential and involved a zoning lot merger on both sides of the lot in order to maximize light and air. Size: 10,000 S.F.

Tribune Media Co-location

The co-location of Tribune’s Radio stations and TV Ad Sales operations in NYC, we provided full architectural and interior design services for this project. Services also included Project Management. Size: 45,000 S.F.
